DGCA CAR-66 AME exam preparation (India)
India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation licenses Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME) under CAR-66, which is harmonised with EASA Part-66. CAR-66 uses the same numbered modules as EASA, split into papers by category: Electrical Fundamentals is 52 questions for B1 and B2, and Turbine Aeroplane Aerodynamics, Structures and Systems (Module 11A) is 140 questions for B1.1, the same counts EASA uses.
Online exams run by the DGCA
The basic knowledge exams are conducted by the DGCA's Central Examination Organisation as online multiple-choice papers, booked through the pariksha.dgca.gov.in portal. The pass mark is 75%, there is no negative marking, and a failed paper can be retaken after 90 days (30 days after retraining at an approved organisation), up to three consecutive attempts.
Mathematics and Physics come from 10+2
CAR-66 requires 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, and the DGCA's modular paper list starts at Module 3. The Module 1 and 2 banks here are still worth using to refresh the maths and physics that Electrical Fundamentals, aerodynamics and the engine modules build on.
